Over 240 golfers are expected to compete in the 11th leg of the 2025 NCBA Golf Series at Nyali Golf and Country Club this Saturday.
Participants will battle it out for six qualification slots to the tournament’s grand finale, scheduled for November.
In addition to the main prizes, a brand-new JCB 3DX Backhoe Loader will be up for grabs for any player who hits a hole-in-one, courtesy of NCBA’s partnership with JCB Ganatra.
Nyali Golf and Country Club Captain Omar Lewa expressed excitement about hosting the tournament, which has drawn significant interest across the country.
“The draw is already full. Many people are looking forward to this premier event. We expect to host more than 250 golfers and want to make it fun,” said Lewa.
A regular participant in the NCBA Golf Series, Lewa commended the tournament’s organization and NCBA’s support for the sport.
“I’ve played in this series quite a number of times, and I must say, it’s excellent sponsorship. NCBA has done a lot to promote golf in Kenya,” he said.
Describing Nyali as a top-tier course, Lewa highlighted the club’s consistency in course conditions, even under the region’s hot climate.
“If you rank it, Nyali is one of the best clubs in Kenya. We offer consistent playing conditions throughout the year, despite the very hot weather,” he noted.

The Nyali leg follows last weekend’s 10th leg of the Series, held at Kakamega Sports Club.
Speaking ahead of the event, NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting golf in Kenya.
“At NCBA, we believe in the power of sport to build strong communities and create opportunities. Our continued investment in golf—from juniors to elite players—is driven by our desire to nurture local talent and offer meaningful experiences to players nationwide,” said Gachora.
He said they are proud of how the NCBA Golf Series has grown into one of the region’s most respected amateur golf platforms.
“This weekend, we’re also excited to offer a hole-in-one prize—a brand-new JCB 3DX Backhoe Loader—thanks to our partnership with JCB Ganatra. It’s a fantastic opportunity for players and a great example of how partnerships can create memorable moments in sport. We look forward to an exciting weekend of golf,” he said.
