Dismas Indiza and Greg Snow will headline Kenya’s 14-player team at the Pearl of Africa Golf Series, the sixth leg of the 2026 Sunshine Development Tour – East Africa Swing, which tees off at Entebbe Golf Club on Wednesday.
The four-day tournament, running from September 16 to 19, has attracted 87 players from nine countries, with Uganda providing the largest contingent of 40 golfers.
South Africa has 18 players, Kenya 14, Nigeria seven and Zimbabwe four. England, Malawi, Tanzania and Eswatini are each represented by one player.
Indiza brings vast experience to the Kenyan team and will be joined by Snow, who earned his Sunshine Tour card for the 2026/27 season.
The Kenyan contingent also features Daniel Nduva, winner of the Royal Nairobi Golf Club leg, David Wakhu, Mutahi Kibugu, Jastas Madoya, Erick Ooko Obura and Jacob Okello.
Others are Dennis Saikwa, Mikael Kihara, Boniface Simwa, Robinson Owiti, Andrew Chelogoi and Joseph Karanja.
Uganda’s challenge will be led by Willy Deus Kitata, Ronald Rugumayo, Gaita Tadeo Rodell and Abraham Ainamani.
Rugumayo enters the tournament in good form after winning the 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Open and the second leg of the MTN Pro Tees Championship at Entebbe.
Kitata will also be seeking to capitalise on his knowledge of the Entebbe course.
South Africa has entered a strong 18-man contingent, including Ruan de Smidt, Ruben Van Der Berg, Werner Deyzel, Dillon Germshuys, Ruan Groenewald, Hannes Strooh and Thabiso Ngcobo.
Nigeria’s seven-player team includes Sunday Olapade, Godwin Okoko, Kamalo Bako and Ideriah Solomon, while Zimbabwe will be represented by Visitor Mapwanya, Lloyd Dube, Bradley Kulaisi and Liberty Gumisa.
The players will battle for a KSh2.3 million prize purse, alongside valuable Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) and World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.
The Entebbe tournament is also a landmark event for Ugandan golf, becoming the country’s first tournament to receive Official World Golf Ranking recognition.
The recognition gives Ugandan professionals an opportunity to earn world-ranking points on home soil while increasing their exposure on the international circuit.
For the Sunshine Development Tour, the event continues to strengthen its role as a pathway for professional golfers across East Africa and the wider continent.
The Pearl of Africa Golf Series will run from Wednesday to Saturday at Entebbe Golf Club.
