
The NCBA Golf Series made its latest stop at the picturesque Limuru Country Club, drawing a strong field of 206 golfers all vying for a chance to qualify for the Grand Finale set for later this year.
Leading the day’s winners were John Kariuki and Nancy Wairimu, who emerged as the top performers in the Overall Gross categories.
Playing off scratch, Kariuki clinched the Men’s title with an impressive gross score of 72.
Wairimu, playing off handicap 3, delivered a commanding round of 78 to take the Ladies’ Gross title.
She further stamped her dominance by also winning the Longest Drive (Ladies) category.
In Division I, junior golfer Austin Gitahi (handicap 9) carded 39 points to claim top spot. He was closely followed by Antony Thiongo and Karigo Karaya—both also off handicap 9—who posted 38 and 37 points respectively.
The Division II Men’s category featured a tight contest, with Joel Gachanja (handicap 20) and David Choru (handicap 14) tying at 42 points.
Gachanja edged out Choru on countback.
Despite missing out on the top spot, Choru impressed by claiming both the Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin titles in the men’s category.
Among the Division II Ladies, Mukami Miako (handicap 21) took top honours with 35 points.
Jenifer Mwangagi (handicap 18) and Wairimu Gakuo (handicap 17) followed with 34 points each, separated by countback to settle in second and third places respectively.

In Division III, rising star Albert Kamau (handicap 25) secured victory with 41 points, while Oscar Osambinyi (handicap 31) and Catherine Sakuti (handicap 37) posted 40 and 39 points respectively to complete the top three.
Junior talent was also on display, with Ryan Njuguna (handicap 13) taking home the Junior Winner’s prize after a round of 40 points.
Meanwhile, Titus Gichia (handicap 27) outshone the Guest category with a day’s best of 47 points.
Among the NCBA staff participants, George Thirima (handicap 21) emerged as the Staff Winner with 36 points. Patricia Ngina secured the Nearest to the Pin award in the ladies’ category.
Speaking after the event, Tirus Mwithiga, NCBA Group Director for Corporate and Investment Banking Advisory, commended the golfers and reiterated the bank’s commitment to the sport.
“The NCBA Golf Series is more than just a tournament — it’s a platform that unites people through a love for golf. It was especially exciting to see junior players performing at such high levels. We are proud to support this journey for golfers at every stage, whether juniors, amateurs or professionals.”
As the NCBA Golf Series nears its conclusion, anticipation continues to build for the remaining legs across East Africa, where more players will be aiming to qualify for the Grand Finale.
