Ryan Njuguna and Ashley Gachora emerged as standout performers during the Royal Nairobi Golf Club leg of the NCBA US Kids Golf Spring Tour held over the weekend.
Njuguna delivered a particularly impressive round, firing a one-under-par 71 to clinch victory in the Boys 12 Years category.
Gachora impressed with a score of 75 to win the Girls 11–12 category
Despite Njuguna opening with a bogey on the first hole, he quickly settled into a consistent rhythm, playing level par for the remaining eight holes on the front nine.
In the back nine, Njuguna carded birdies on the 13th and 17th holes, maintaining level par on the others to close with a solid 71.
“The day was good and I played really well. All my shots were consistent, and I won today because of my caddie—she helped me a lot, especially with reading the lines,” said Njuguna.
He identified holes 10 and 17 as critical moments in his round.
“I made a good birdie on 17, and on hole 10 I managed a great save for par,” he added.
His win at Royal Nairobi moves him to fifth in the overall standings heading into the championship round at Muthaiga Golf Club on May 25.

Shuhan Peng, who finished second at Royal with a score of 73, leads the overall leaderboard with 160 points.
Adam Nesbitt, third with a score of 79, sits second in the standings with 140 points.
The upcoming championship round in Muthaiga will offer double points, setting the stage for a thrilling finale.
In the Girls 11–12 category, Ashley Gachora, caddied by her father John Gachora, also impressed with a winning score of 75.
She opened with a birdie and a bogey to finish the front nine at level par.
Despite another birdie on the back nine, three bogeys pushed her to a back-nine score of 39 and an overall gross of 75.
“I was aiming for 72, but I messed up the second-last hole—number 8—with a double bogey. But I finished strong with a birdie on the 9th, so I’m feeling okay,” said Gachora.
Siqian Yu and Muthoni Kioi tied for second on 79, followed by Ashley Muyela in fourth.
Championship leader Chloe Chiuri finished fifth
Chiuri continues to lead the standings with 134 points, while Siqian Yu has climbed to second with 98 points.
Aria Dodhia is third with 94, Ashley Muyela fourth with 92, and Gachora’s win has vaulted her into the top five with 87.5 points.
