Thika Sports Club is set to host the eighth leg of the 2025 NCBA Golf Series this weekend, drawing over 200 golfers to its renowned par-72 course.

The players will battle for top honors and the highly sought-after qualifying slots to the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale, slated for later this year.

Among the standout names to watch are Isaack Charagu and Betty Nderu—both well-known within the club and the Series.

The duo claimed top spots in last year’s event, winning the Men’s and Ladies’ Division One titles respectively. As they return to their home course, anticipation is high for another strong showing.

Founded in 1922, Thika Sports Club boasts a rich history, making it one of Kenya’s most iconic golfing venues.

Over the years, it has cemented its reputation as one of Kenya’s premier golfing venues, known for its pristine fairways and vibrant golfing community.

The club has played host to numerous prestigious tournaments, including the iconic Winston Churchill Tournament, and remains a vital hub for nurturing golf talent in the region.

“At NCBA, we believe in creating opportunities for growth and excellence, both on and off the golf course. The NCBA Golf Series reflects this commitment. We’re proud of how the Series has grown into one of Kenya’s most anticipated golf circuits—one that brings together players of all levels, builds friendships, and grows the sport we all cherish. We look forward to another memorable weekend at Thika.”

Thika Sports Club Captain Walter Njenga echoed the sentiment:

“It’s always an honor to welcome golfers from around the region to Thika Sports Club. We’re proud to be part of the NCBA Golf Series, which continues to inspire players and uplift the game in Kenya. Our course is in excellent shape, and we’re excited for what promises to be a competitive and enjoyable day of golf.”

Muritu, playing off handicap 11, was crowned Overall Winner on countback, while Aluku, with a handicap of 25, clinched the Men’s Winner title.

Roy Shirekuli (handicap 21) secured the Men’s Runner-up position with 41 points, just one shot behind the leaders.
