Golf fever heads to Machakos this Friday, May 9, as the prestigious NCBA Golf Series makes its ninth stop of the 2025 season at the scenic nine-hole Machakos Golf Club.
More than 100 amateur golfers from across the region are expected to battle it out, each eyeing a prized ticket to the Grand Finale set for November 28, 2025.
The NCBA Golf Series has become a staple in Kenya’s golfing calendar—renowned for combining competitive play with community building and networking.
It offers club golfers of all levels a chance to compete in a professionally-run circuit while enjoying the game’s social and developmental benefits.
This weekend, NCBA Bank is sponsoring not just one, but three major events: the Machakos leg of the NCBA Golf Series, the NCBA Kiambu Open, and the NCBA U.S. Kids Golf Spring Local Tour Tournament at Royal Nairobi Golf Club.
NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to sports development in Kenya, stating:
“Through our sponsorship of the NCBA Golf Series, the Kiambu Open, and junior golf events like the U.S. Kids Spring Tournament, we are proud to support the development of golf in Kenya and across the region.”
He added, “These tournaments are not just about competition—they’re about bringing people together, celebrating the sport, and building the next generation of champions.”
The Machakos event follows a successful outing at Thika Sports Club last weekend, where 270 players competed in a high-energy tournament.
Standout performers included 23-year-old Dennis Gakuo, who took home the Men’s Overall Gross title, and Naomi Kimata, who led the women’s category with an impressive display.
As the series continues to grow in popularity and impact, NCBA Bank’s role in elevating club-level golf and nurturing emerging talent remains central.
Their support is ensuring that golf in Kenya remains vibrant, inclusive, and full of opportunity.
