Edwin Kiptoo delivered a polished performance to headline the latest leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series, emerging as the Division A winner at the Mombasa Golf Club over the weekend.
Playing off handicap 11, Kiptoo carded an impressive 72 nett to seal the top spot in a closely fought contest.
He finished just ahead of Sheel Dodhia, also handicap 11, who returned 73 nett, while Peter Kimanga, handicap 11, secured third place on 75 nett in a tightly packed leaderboard.
In Division B, Martin Irungu, handicap 15, claimed victory after posting 71 nett and winning on countback against Sam Muraya, also handicap 15, who matched the score.
Johnson Muriuki, playing off handicap 18, settled for third place with 77 nett.
Division C produced equally competitive scores, with Rana Umair, handicap 25, standing out after carding 64 points to clinch the win.
Joseph Kitema, handicap 27, followed in second on 67 points, while Col. James Ndungu, handicap 19, finished third with 69 points.

The Best Gross award went to Gurbux Singh, handicap 2, who returned an 83 gross to underline his steady form at the Coast leg of the series.
More than 80 golfers featured in the February Mug, braving coastal conditions as they battled for honours and qualification slots to the season-ending Grand Finale at Karen Country Club.
Speaking during the prize-giving ceremony, NCBA Regional Retail Manager, Coast Region, Yasir Ashur, lauded the participants and reiterated the bank’s continued backing of the sport in the region.
“Every time we bring the series here, we’re reminded of the strong passion for golf in the coastal region. From this event, we now have golfers who have secured their places in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale in November at Karen Country Club,” he said.
Ashur added that NCBA’s support extends beyond hosting tournaments.
“We want to inspire juniors to be the next Njoroges while at the same time giving them opportunities to make a living out of golf. That is why we continue to work closely with the relevant bodies to strengthen the development of the sport and complete the golf cycle.”

The Mombasa outing further builds momentum for the 2026 NCBA Golf Series, which continues to draw corporate leaders, amateur golfers and emerging talent from across the country. Qualifiers from this leg now join other winners set to battle for overall honours at the Grand Finale later this year.
The circuit now heads to its next stop at Mt. Kipipiri Golf Resort as players continue their push for a coveted place in the finale.
