More than 168 junior golfers from 27 schools will take to the fairways today, Friday, for the second edition of the NCBA Interschools Golf Tournament at the prestigious Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.
Organized by the Junior Golf Foundation Kenya (JGF) in partnership with NCBA Bank, the tournament is part of a fast-growing national series aimed at nurturing young talent and introducing more schoolchildren to the sport of golf.
Uniquely structured to accommodate both handicapped and non-handicapped juniors, the NCBA Interschools Tournament champions inclusivity while expanding golf’s reach among Kenya’s youth.
It serves as a flagship event under the Junior Golf Foundation’s ‘Get Into Golf’ initiative, a nationwide program focused on building the game from grassroots to elite levels.
This edition welcomes several new schools to the competition, including Consolata School Nairobi, Nova Pioneer–Tatu Primary, Pioneer Junior School, and Sun and Shield Primary and Junior School from Nakuru—an encouraging sign of the tournament’s growing appeal across the country.
Players will compete in four age-based categories:
- 10 years and under
- 11–12 years
- 13–14 years
- 15–18 years
Each school fields teams of four players per category, with the best three scores counting towards the team’s overall score.

The participating institutions include The Banda School, Braeburn Garden Estate, Braeburn Gitanga Road, Braeside Lavington School, Consolata School Nairobi, Crawford International School, Faith Ventures Academy, Hillcrest Preparatory School, Hillcrest Secondary School, Home School, and International School of Kenya.
Others are Kenton College, Kiota School, Lenana School, Limuru Children Centre, Makini School, Montessori Learning Centre – Prep, Nova Pioneer-Tatu Primary, Peponi School, Pioneer Junior School, Premier Academy, Rosslyn Academy, Rusinga School, St. Austen’s Academy, St. Ruth School, Sun and Shield Primary and Junior School and The Nairobi Academy
In the tournament’s March 2025 edition, St. Ruth School emerged victorious in the 10-and-under category, while Home School teams dominated the 11–14 and 15–18 categories—setting the stage for another exciting round of competition.
NCBA Bank’s continued sponsorship has been instrumental in the development of junior golf in Kenya, especially among girls, differently abled juniors, and children from underserved backgrounds.
Their support reflects a long-term commitment to not only developing young golfers but also nurturing the next generation of disciplined, focused, and visionary leaders.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, JGF President Vincent Mukiri noted:
“The beauty of the NCBA Interschool Tournament lies not only in the competition but in the collaboration. By getting more schools involved, we are building a sustainable future for junior golf in Kenya. Through our ‘Get Into Golf’ initiative, we’re making sure every child—regardless of background—gets a chance to learn, play, and thrive through golf.”
This tournament is the second in a three-part interschools series, which will culminate in the highly anticipated NCBA Lisle Shaw Interschool Tournament in October 2025.
That final event will be exclusive to juniors with official handicaps, offering a more competitive platform for young golfers to test their skills on a national stage.
