Dennis Rono stole the show at Eldoret Golf Club last Saturday beat more than 100 golfers to emerge winner during the club’s Monthly Mug sponsored by NCBA Bank.
Rono, carding a brilliant 64 off handicap 34, emerged the overall winner and secure his place in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale set for November at Muthaiga Golf Club.
Three other golfers also booked their spots in the coveted season finale.
Shadrack Ngetich, playing off handicap 6, claimed the men’s title with a score of 66, while Jedidah Keitany, off handicap 21, topped the ladies’ category with 75 points.
In the junior division, Jonathan Barorot (handicap 17) delivered an impressive round of 70 to take top honours.
The four now join a growing list of qualifiers from across Kenya and the region who will compete for top honours at the Grand Finale.
The Eldoret leg come just after the 16th leg of the 2025 NCBA Golf Series held at Sigona Golf Club where over 260 golfers competed.
In Sigona, Sandeep Matharu and Zipporah Gichigi were among the standout performers, earning top honours in the gross categories.
Matharu, playing off handicap 2, emerged as the Overall Gross Winner (Men) with a superb round of 72 gross, while Gichigi, playing off handicap 7, secured the Overall Lady Gross Winner title with a score of 86 gross.
In Division One, Saahil Shah (handicap 10) delivered a consistent performance to finish top with 40 stableford points, while Division Two honours went to Milan Varsani (handicap 18), who carded 42 points to lead the men, while Jane Njau (handicap 14) topped the ladies’ field with 33 points.
The day’s best stableford score came from Division Three winner Bharat Lakhani, who posted an outstanding 43 points to claim victory in his category.
All six players secured their spots in the Grand Finale of the 2025 NCBA Golf Series.
The NCBA Golf Series action continues this weekend at Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, presenting another opportunity for golfers to secure their spot at the finale.
